Questions and Answers

Here are a few questions and answers that you might have about Cherry Valley and our products for a balanced diet and healthy eating. If there is a point or a question that is not answered here, please get in touch.

Q. Are Cherry Valley products suitable for a vegetarian diet?

A. We specialise in the manufacture of ducks and duck based products. None of our products are therefore suitable for a vegetarian diet.

Q. Do Cherry Valley sell any Halal approved products?

A. Yes we do sell some Halal approved products – our Boneless Roast Duck and Crispy Aromatic duck.

Q. What are the nutritional values of the products Cherry Valley sells?

A. We sell duck in many formats and the nutritional values will depend on the amount of duck, whether it is pre-cooked or whether we have added value to the duck (e.g. included a delicious sauce). Please see the individual product details for further nutritional information.

Q. Do Cherry Valley produce low fat products?

A. Yes we produce low fat skinless duck meat that is supplied into sandwich manufacturers.

Q. Is duck fatty and unhealthy for me?

A. Duck, like any poultry animal has a layer of fat around the body to protect it from the elements. Whilst duck fat is low in saturated fats it is a good source of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, essential for a balanced diet.

Q. I have heard that removing the skin from duck leaves a very lean piece of protein, is this true?

A. Yes it is true. Once the skin and fat has been removed from duck the calorie and fat content levels are as low as they are in skinless chicken.

Q. What other benefits are there of including duck in my nutritionally balanced diet?

A. Duck is a great source of iron and potassium essential for healthy bones. Duck is also rich in vitamins A, B and E as well as a useful source of selenium. Experts believe selenium can help to protect us from heart disease and even some cancers.
